A State of Trance (sometimes abbreviated as ASOT or ASOT) is a radio program broadcast weekly, hosted by Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren. Originally issued in March 2001 by ID & T Radio (precursor Slam FM), the program takes the form of a mixture of two hours in which the new trance music, both promotional and commercially presented. Selected tracks are announced during the program to help promote new artists and releases those already known. Its combination of radioshow / Website has proven popular internationally, as fans, listening to the radio-dialogue and comment on the post program known Web site as well as DI.FM, during the broadcast. Globally, the program attracts more than 16 million listeners each week.
