During adolescence, Armin went to school by bike and took advantage of these trips to listen to music with headphones. At that time Armin listened to Jean-Michel Jarre and Ben Liebrand. Armin sent a demo of one of his songs to Ben Liebrand and he became interested in his music. After a while, Ben and Armin started producing and mixing together.
Armin’s passion for creating mixes grew and soon began working as a DJ in a nightclub in Leiden called Nexus. In 1995 he graduated from the school and enrolled in college to study law.
